Marketing Efforts Expanded

March 1998 - Taylor Manufacturing Systems (TMS) has expanded its world wide marketing program with the appointment of a new marketing director. Tammy L. Laughter, former vice president of operations for Lionheart Publishing Company of Atlanta, joined TMS to develop a wide range of marketing objectives in support of the Taylor Execution Scheduling System (TESS) software and the company's customer training and development services.

According to President Ursula Hess, TMS needs to significantly increase its marketing investment to reach manufacturing companies who must combine the objectives of planning, the complexities of scheduling, and the realities of execution to effectively manage their production. “Laughter,” she said, “brings to this challenge an understanding of our target market and many years of related experience including her work with 'APICS-The Performance Advantage,' the professional publication produced by Lionheart for APICS--The Educational Society for Resource Management.”

TESS, which was introduced in 1995, has been installed at over 100 sites, including implementations that interface with System Software Associates BPCS Client/Server and J.D. Edwards enterprise resource planning system. “We already have a powerful application, favorable reviews from analysts, acceptance by business partners, and a strong customer base,” said Hess. “Now we need to let everyone else know about it.”
