Taylor Scheduling Software Announces the Availability the first Q-Series Product, Q-Operate

EDMONTON, ALBERTA March 2004

Taylor Scheduling Software Inc. (Taylor), a leading provider of advanced production scheduling solutions, today announced the dawn of a brand new line of Taylor's highly successful scheduling software, the Q-Series, and the availability of the first product of this new line, Q-Operate.

The Q-Series

Taylor recognizes constantly changing industry conditions and the need for flexible, adaptable, and affordable software solutions. With this in mind, Taylor has spent the past year redefining its framework for advanced scheduling, production reporting and capacity planning software, building upon past experience and customer input to unveil a new breed of scheduling applications. Utilizing the latest in software development technologies, Q-Series offers customers high-performance applications that are easy to install, simple to use, and adaptable in both scope and connectivity.

Taylor®s Q-Series applications are based upon a client/server framework to allow for convenient portability. A single server handles data management and processing while individual client components can be installed and run remotely from a web browser. For the newly released Q-Operate (Taylor's production reporting and status control application), this allows multiple client stations to be easily installed on the shop-floor and simultaneously connected to the server. The Q-Application Server handles all data logistics, resulting in faster and more streamlined client performance.

Q-Operate

The first product available under the Q-Series line, Q-Operate solves the dilemma of tracking shop-floor progress and scheduling using the most up-to-date information available. Q-Operate provides a real-time link between the shop-floor and the Taylor Scheduler, creating efficient two-way communication between planners and production.

Using a straightforward and easy-to-use interface, Q-Operate allows machine operators to retrieve dispatch lists of scheduled operations and provide production updates on these operations as soon as possible. The result is more fluid cooperation between the shop-floor and planners and the ability to adapt quickly to constantly changing manufacturing conditions.

Q-Operate is available now from Taylor Scheduling Software Inc. Contact info@taylor.com to inquire or visit www.taylor.com for more information.
