Taylor Manufacturing Systems Announces Availability of Capacity Planner ATLANTA, GEORGIA, June 11
Taylor Manufacturing Systems, a leading provider of advanced production scheduling (APS) software, today announced the availability of a new product, the Capacity Planner.
Capacity Planner works with a manufacturer's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System and provides single, easy-to-use solution for managing capacity at every level in a plant: long-range or rough cut capacity planning, medium-range or detailed capacity planning and short-term, schedule-focused analysis. The product can use either an infinite capacity or finite capacity model of the plant, providing the user with maximum flexibility.
While most ERP systems provide some level of capacity planning, the functions included often don't provide the tools needed to effectively plan and manage capacity in industries, such as pharmaceuticals, where availability of capacity can be a critical constraint. The Taylor Capacity Planner gives planners the ability to realistically model capacity, build alternate capacity models and consider multiple manufacturing scenarios.
"The Capacity Planner gives planners more power and flexibility than has been available in other products," said Neil Taylor, President and CEO of Taylor Manufacturing Systems. "In industries like pharmaceuticals, the added capabilities of the Capacity Planner can give the manufacturer a powerful competitive weapon." Taylor said the Capacity Planner has already been installed and is in daily use at one customer, DSM Pharmaceuticals in Greenville, NC.
The Capacity Planner was developed in conjunction with Taylor customers and is designed to operate with any ERP or planning system. Integration to existing planning systems is achieved using the Taylor Integration Toolkit.
