ATLANTA and GREENSBORO, NC, May 15 2001 --
A new agreement between software developers Taylor Manufacturing Systems and iWork Software offers customers an APS (advanced production scheduling) system built on top of an enterprise-wide business process integration infrastructure. The iWork®Business Integration Suite provides seamless integration between the Taylor APS product, TESS(TM), and the customer's ERP system and additional applications.
Optional iWork building blocks and adapters allow efficient integration with a wide range of disparate systems and leading applications in addition to APS and ERP. The iWork suite offers a robust business process integration infrastructure with built-in wireless capabilities accommodating radio frequency (RF), PDAs and cellular technology. It provides an open framework and single infrastructure for meeting the integration needs inside and outside a company's firewall.
Taylor and iWork have signed an OEM and remarketing agreement that will be mutually beneficial to each company's marketing strategy.
“Our companies have forged an alliance that works for the customer,” says Neil Taylor, president and CEO or Taylor Manufacturing Systems. “By rapidly developing and deploying enterprise integration solutions for joint customers, iWork and Taylor have delivered on the promise many vendors make and never fulfill. We chose iWork as our strategic partner because their integration solutions and their focus on customer success were the best in the market.”
“In most manufacturing companies, management software from several different companies must co-exist and interoperate in order for the manufacturer to make best use of its data and systems. Teaming with iWork effectively takes the issue of integration 'off the table' and allows us to focus on providing the best advanced production scheduling system to our customers,” says Taylor.
For iWork, the agreement to link its business process integration suite with the sale of a mission-critical application like TESS, offers ready-made proof-of-concept of the suite's reliability.
“When customers see how easily TESS is integrated using our suite, they begin to look to extend the use of our infrastructure to resolve other integration problems,” says Ken Hamlin, iWork chief technology officer. “The flexibility of the suite coupled with TESS and the customer's existing application systems introduces a number of cost-reducing business processes that can be added to the integration.”
Taylor and iWork have been business partners since 1999 and their products have been jointly implemented at several manufacturing sites worldwide.
“TESS is an ideal product to demonstrate the effectiveness and power of our business process integration suite,” says iWork CEO Harry S. Falk. “Our joint customers speak highly of TESS' functionality and Taylor's expertise in manufacturing. In today's economy, advanced production scheduling is a 'must- have' application for manufacturers of every size to be able to meet customer demand in shorter and shorter lead times and at a lower cost than ever before.”
